The title of this article might seem intuitive, but there is good scientific evidence that happy people live longer.
A review by Ed Diener and Micaela Chan looked over 150 reports and eight types of longitudinal long term studies and found consistently that subjects sense of subjective well being (SWB) was correlated with reduced mortality or longevity.
